Kiley Wallace
President and Principal Architectural Historian
A native of Northern California, Kiley holds a bachelors degree from Arizona State University, College of Architecture and Urban Design, with an emphasis in Architectural and Urban Planning history. Mr. Wallace served in the design department of several award winning architectural and planning firms in California and Arizona before forming Classic Preservation & Planning. He has authored and co-authored numerous published articles and historical nomination reports including city, state, county and national historical designations. Kiley is a current member of the County of San Diego Historical Site Board. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and an American Planning Association member. His qualifications exceed the requirements established by the National Parks Service and the Secretary of Interior professional qualifications for Architectural Historian as published in the code of federal regulations. Kiley has also lectured on historical architecture, focusing on the Spanish Eclectic architecture of Mission Hills and Inspiration Heights for the Mission Hills Heritage organization. Mr. Wallace has authored reports on, studied and preserved many of San Diego's significant historical resources. He and his wife Alexandra, along with a fellow preservationist, co-authored the book San Diego's Kensington. It was released by Arcadia Publishing in 2017.

Born and raised in San Diego, I bring a lifelong appreciation for historic architecture shaped by both personal passion and hands-on experience. I have volunteered as a docent at Rancho Buena Vista Adobe and Old Town State Park, where I enjoyed sharing local history and helping visitors connect with the region’s architectural heritage. During my time in Humboldt County, I further deepened my involvement by serving on the Humboldt Historical Society and working as the volunteer coordinator for the Historic Eureka Theater. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for preservation and community engagement, and I’m excited to contribute to sharing and celebrating historic architecture. sabrina@preservesandiego.com

Alexandra WallacePrincipal ResearcherAlexandra Wallace is the Principal Researcher for Landmark Historic Preservation. Alexandra holds a Bachelors degree in Anthropology from Arizona State University. She conducts research into historic properties and significant individuals associated with homes, and particularly enjoys locating long lost historical photos and finding old newspaper ads featuring historic houses. Ms. Wallace has researched, co-authored and edited historical nomination reports in the city of San Diego, City of La Mesa and County of San Diego. Alexandra has volunteered her time for San Diego archaeological and historic organizations. She has conducted genealogical and archival research for over 10 years and has co-authored published articles on historically designated properties and significant past historical owners. Alexandra has conducted historical and archival research to allow the restoration and preservation of some of San Diego's most important historical homes.
